Hi. Thank you for the informative article. I've just had camber plates installed on my m140i xDrive and they are adjusted to different values on each side of the car yet the alignment figures all look pretty good. Just wondering if this is something that you see from time to time? For example, one side is set to .5mm whereas the other side is set to 2mm. My car is lowered with H&R sport springs and is set to -2 degrees camber up front. Thank you.

In reply to <a href="https://suspensionsecrets.co.uk/camber-2/#comment-47724">barry roberts</a>.

Hi Barry, Thanks for the message. Uneven caster wouldn't tend to pull the car left or right in a straight line as the caster causes a centering effect. Therefore, it would re-centre at different rates in left and right handed corners but wouldn't pull in a straight line.

The most likely cause, that we come across most of the time, is that your toe settings will be incorrect and will be causing the car to pull. The best route would be to get a full geometry alignment carried out on the car focusing on the toe settings to make sure they are set even.

Thanks

what are the effects of uneven suspension set ups? for example I drive a miata and I am not really sure if I have the same amount of caster on the front wheels. The car drifts slightly to the left on what I perceive is a flat road. Could differential caster (or camber) cause this? What side would the car move to, the side with more caster or less caster. Do you have a section on diagnosing problem? I have talked to people at tire and alignment shops and they are dumber than I am!
