Changing the Game: Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber Plates Volkswagen & Audi MQB

We’re excited to announce the release of our first ever in-house upgrade for the VAG MQB chassis: Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber Plates Volkswagen & Audi MQB. Our camber plates are a world first: they are the only aftermarket camber plates that feature adjustable camber alongside a fixed offset caster adjustment.

These plates are compatible with:

  • Volkswagen Golf GTI/TCR (Mk.7)

  • Volkswagen Golf R (Mk.7)

  • Audi S3 (8V)

  • Audi RS3 (8V)

  • Audi TTS (8S)

  • Audi TTRS (8S)

  • SEAT Leon Cupra 265-300 (inc. ‘R’) (5F)

  • Skoda Octavia RS (5E)

As standard, the front camber on all MQB-based cars (MQB being the chassis code for all of the aforementioned cars) is not adjustable, which limits overall cornering grip. MQB-based cars are notorious for fairly horrendous understeer when driving fast on road or track. Understeer reduces cornering speeds, wears tyres excessively and is not enjoyable whatsoever.

To solve this, we’ve designed the Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber Plates Volkswagen & Audi MQB that feature increased negative camber and increased positive caster for massively increased cornering grip and higher cornering speeds. Negative camber increases grip when cornering. When cornering, the inside tyres unload as the weight of the car shifts outwards onto the outer tyres. Without sufficient negative camber, lateral cornering forces are exerted on the outer edge of the outer tyres, resulting in understeer.

If negative camber is increased, the contact patch of the outer tyres is larger and used more efficiently. As a greater surface area of tyre is in contact with the tarmac, more grip is generated and cornering forces are more evenly distributed, making tyre wear more even.

Our Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber Plates Volkswagen & Audi MQB also increase positive caster. Caster is the measure of how far forward or behind the steering axis is to the vertical axis when viewed from the side. Positive caster creates self-aligning torque which improves high speed stability and increases steering feel. Increased positive caster also creates dynamic camber gain. When cornering, negative camber increases as more steering lock is applied resulting in increased cornering grip.

To ensure the best possible product for our customers, we manufacture our Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber Plates Volkswagen & Audi MQB in-house using 6082 T6 aircraft-grade aluminium. Our camber plates use motorsport-grade Rodobal bearings with a dynamic radial load rating of 76500 Newtons, ensuring the best performance for our customers.

Our Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber Plates Volkswagen & Audi MQB are designed to be a great handling upgrade for both fast road and track day drivers. Our camber plates feature two different settings for camber; one for fast road driving and another for track driving. These two fixed positions means achieving your desired camber angle is easy. The fixed camber positions meaning zero hassle as the camber settings can be set before installation. Compared to competitors items which feature camber adjustment sliders, the Suspension Secrets Adjustable Camber Plates Volkswagen & Audi MQB have no risk of the camber angle changing whilst driving.

The two fixed camber presets are ideal if the purpose of your car changes, or you are going on track. Camber adjustment is as simple as dropping the front suspension struts, changing to the desired camber preset, reinstalling the suspension struts and then tweaking the front toe to compensate for the altered camber angle
