Porsche 992 GT3 RS Camber Blocks: The Single Best Handling Upgrade

Porsche’s 992 GT3 RS can lap the Nürbugring Nordschleife in just 6min 49.328secs in standard form. So it’s safe to say this sports car is built to thrill. And yet this Porsche has so much more handling performance to give – if you know how to unlock it.

In this blog, we reveal the best bang-for-buck handling upgrade you can make to your 992 GT3 RS.

Not only will this easy-to-install modification improve grip and tyre life, it will slash lap time, reduce understeer and dramatically enhance driving enjoyment.

And all for less than the price of speccing a reversing camera on your car at the factory.

Sounds too good to be true? Let us explain why 992 GT3 RS Camber Blocks (£960 RRP) are the best investment you can make for your Porsche.

Building On The Best

The 992 GT3 RS arrived on the scene in the summer of 2022, packing a 525hp flat-six engine displacing four litres and revving to 9,000rpm.

Porsche deployed various tricks to harness all that grunt including extreme aerodynamics, double-wishbone front suspension, rear axle steering, and lightweight body panels.

Various companies including Porsche’s majority-owned GT partner Manthey have since developed a range of upgrades for the 992 GT3 RS. The comprehensive Manthey Performance Kit, for example, costs around £100,000 and reduces the car’s Nürburgring lap time by almost four seconds (6mins 45.389secs).

For owners with deep pockets and a desire to travel even more quickly in their thoroughbred GT3 RS, that works out as roughly £25,000 per second gained on a 20.8km circuit. Assuming, of course, you’re a professional racing driver as talented as Jörg Bergmeister.

But what if we told you there’s a way for GT3 RS drivers to achieve significant handling gains on track for one hundredth of that amount? And you don’t need to be a hot shoe pilot to feel the difference.

That’s what’s possible with our Suspension Secrets 992 GT3 RS Front Camber Blocks and a carefully tuned geometry alignment. Read on to find out how they work…

GT3 RS Camber Blocks

Our focus of attention here is the 992 GT3 RS’s double-wishbone front suspension arrangement. This assembly features upper and lower wishbones that control front axle kinematics.

This setup also includes camber blocks integrated into the front suspension uprights, which are easily accessed behind the wheel, and just as easily removed (loosen and remove two bolts).

The standard GT3 RS camber blocks allow up to -2.8 degrees of negative camber to be applied to the front axle (ride height dependent). Our Suspension Secrets front camber blocks for the 992 GT3 RS are a direct replacement for the factory parts and instantly unlock up to -4.0 degrees of negative camber. This allows GT3 RS that are regularly used on circuit to achieve optimum settings and use their front tyres more effectively.

Why Is Negative Camber Important?

Negative camber can improve cornering grip by helping the tyre maintain a more effective contact patch under load.

As a car corners, lateral forces cause the body to roll and the suspension geometry to move. This can push the outside tyre onto its outer shoulder, reducing the amount of tread in contact with the road and limiting available grip.

By setting the wheel with negative camber, the top of the tyre leans inwards when the car is travelling in a straight line. As the car rolls during cornering, the outside tyre moves towards a more upright position, allowing more of the tread to remain in contact with the track surface.

When correctly set for the car, tyre and intended use, negative camber can improve front-end response, increase mid-corner grip and reduce excessive wear on the tyre’s outer shoulder.

So not only will our GT3 RS camber blocks increase your driving enjoyment and help reduce lap times on track, they can also reduce your tyre costs.

Road Driving

For drivers regularly using their Porsche on track, we highly recommend fitting our 992 GT3 RS camber blocks to increase handling performance and ensure more even tyre wear – and maximum grip – during hard driving.

When it comes to driving on the road, if that’s your priority with your 3RS then we advise customers to continue using the factory camber blocks and accept less front-end response on circuit.

Unlock More From Your GT3 RS

The Porsche 992 GT3 RS already possesses an exceptional chassis, but even the most capable factory setup must accommodate a wide range of drivers, roads and operating conditions.

For owners who regularly drive on circuit, our GT3 RS Front Camber Blocks allow the front suspension geometry to be tailored more closely to the demands of track driving. The additional negative camber helps the front tyres work more effectively under load, improving front-end grip, reducing understeer and controlling outer-shoulder wear

Unlike far more expensive performance upgrades, camber blocks do not attempt to reinvent the GT3 RS. They simply unlock greater adjustment from the suspension already fitted to the car.

Combined with a professionally tailored geometry alignment, they represent one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to improve confidence, consistency and capability of a track-driven 992 GT3 RS.
