2019 Season:
Set to launch their Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) race program, M1 GT Racing in partnership with TRC, is pleased to announce their first of three confirmed drivers for the 2019 season. With renewed energy and a fresh approach to the 2019 season, M1 GT Racing is pleased to welcome female racer Lindsay Rice to the program, as she will make her series and team debut at the first event in less than three weeks’ time behind the wheel of an Audi RS3 LMS.
“We are happy to confirm and welcome Lindsay to the M1 GT Racing program,” explained Remi Lanteigne. “Lindsay is a breath of fresh air and a talented female. She brings a host of partners and experience to our Canadian program. Successful both on and off the track, the partnership will flourish as the year goes on and we look to attain all the goals that we have set in place.”
“We are taking a big step in the right direction by teaming up with M1 GT Racing to support my #18 Rice Racing branded Audi RS3 LMS,” explained Lindsay Rice. “The M1 GT program has done very well in the United States with Audis in several different series of competition, so to be able to join forces in Canada is really a fantastic opportunity.”
Rice, who started racing at the age of 24, is in her fourth year of competition and brings huge support to the program with her vast quantity and wide array of partners. Receiving support from Audi Canada, Audi Brampton, Audi of Mississauga, Hangar Distribution, T Box Technologies, Gavin Hockey Wealth Specialists, Inroble International Inc. and Restyle It Wraps, Rice has secured thirteen podium result and three victories since the beginning of her career and is part of the only female run Audi GT racing team in the country.
Outside of the driver’s seat, Lindsay Rice is involved in different charities and spends her time placing focus on the community and influencing young female talent. Rice hosts young females at race weekends and educates them on the opportunities for women in motorsport. This group of young women include girls from ages 6 to 16, who Lindsay has met at the race track, at community events, and through social media marketing. Lindsay is also a manager of sorts for different charitable events such as Cops for Cancer, Hot Rods for a Cause, Wheels for Wishes and Rally for Kids.
Rice continued, “Our priorities for the season are testing, driver development, and podiums. I have full trust that working together with M1 GT Racing will get us there this season. I look forward to working alongside the amazing crew and engineering program that Remi and his team have put in place as well as getting on track with my new teammates.”
